Oral surgery in Clark, New Jersey
The surgery and the tooth that replaces it, in one place.
Most practices refer the surgical half out and put the crown on afterwards. The seam between those two halves is where cases go wrong.
Oral surgery at Lukenda Dental covers tooth extractions, wisdom teeth, bone grafting and dental implant placement, planned from a 3D scan taken in the office. The same dentist who performs the surgery makes the teeth that go on top, so the implant is placed at the angle the final restoration needs.
Reviewed August 2026.
Extractions, including the ones other offices refer out
A tooth split below the gum, a root left behind, a wisdom tooth lying sideways against its neighbour. These are the cases that get sent across town. Here the 3D scan shows the root shape and the nerve position before anything starts, which is what turns a difficult extraction into a planned one.
Wisdom teeth — and when to leave them alone
Repeated infection, decay that cannot be cleaned, pressure damaging the tooth in front, or a cyst on the scan are reasons to remove. A wisdom tooth that is fully through, cleanable and painless is often best left where it is. Removing teeth that are not causing trouble is surgery for its own sake.
Bone grafting, and how often it turns out to be unnecessary
Plenty of patients arrive having been told they need a graft before implants are possible. Sometimes that is right. Frequently it is not, because angled implants catch bone that a straight one would miss. The scan settles it in one appointment, and the answer is honest either way.
Why one dentist for both halves
When the surgeon and the restoring dentist are different people, the implant goes in where it was easiest to place and the crown is built to fit that. When they are the same person, the implant goes in where the tooth needs to be. Six months later that difference shows up in the bite — and there is one person to ask.
