Lukenda Dental is at 1093 Raritan Road, Suite 1, Clark, New Jersey 07066 — holland Tunnel and the Turnpike, or the Goethals — around 22 miles. Dr. Richard Lukenda, DMD, a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, places the implants and makes the teeth that go on them in the same office. Call 732-428-4080.

The drive

Holland Tunnel to the New Jersey Turnpike, or the Goethals Bridge from the south, then Garden State Parkway to exit 135. Around twenty-two miles and forty to fifty-five minutes door to door outside rush hour. NJ Transit to Rahway plus a short taxi is the option without a car.

What the flat fee actually covers

Every extraction, the implants — four, six or eight, whatever the bone calls for — any bone grafting, the fixed bridge screwed in on the day the old teeth come out, and the definitive full zirconia bridge months later. That matters when you compare quotes: a lower number that stops at the temporary bridge is not a lower number.

Be realistic about the trips

Full-arch treatment means one long surgical appointment and several shorter reviews over the following months. If you are crossing the river for it, count those trips before you decide. Anyone who tells you it is a single visit and done is selling you the provisional bridge as if it were the final one.

What to ask any office before you commit

Ask who places the implants and who makes the final bridge, and whether it is the same person. Ask whether the price includes the definitive bridge or only the provisional. Ask how many follow-up visits there are. Those three answers explain most of the difference between quotes that look far apart.

Straight answers

What Manhattan patients ask first.

Four questions that come up in nearly every implant consultation, answered before you book one.

What is All-on-4?
All-on-4 replaces a whole jaw of teeth with one fixed bridge carried on four implants. The two back implants go in at an angle to catch bone that is still dense, which often avoids a graft. Extractions, implants and a fixed provisional bridge usually happen in a single appointment.
How long does All-on-4 take from start to finish?
The part you care about is fast: extractions, implants and a fixed provisional bridge normally happen in one appointment, and you go home with teeth. Underneath, the implants need several months to fuse with bone before the definitive bridge goes on. Your dates are written into the plan you get at the consultation.
Do I go home without teeth while the implants heal?
No. A fixed provisional bridge is screwed on the same day the implants go in, so you leave with teeth in place. It is temporary in the sense that it will be replaced by the definitive bridge once the implants have fused — not in the sense that it comes out at night.
Why do two quotes for the same treatment differ so much?
Usually because they are not the same treatment. One may cover four implants where your scan needs six. One may stop at the temporary bridge and invoice the definitive one later. One may exclude the extractions or price grafting separately. Here it is a single flat fee per arch, so none of those questions arise.
